There's a Rand Roll and Chaos Gen Newsletter sent every month. This is the July version. (There were ones for August and Sept, I just forgot to share them on Rand Roll!)
Highlighted Gens and Tools
Magna Urbis is a city map generator. Version 1 is impressive, and version 2 is on the way.
d4 Caltrops has lots of old-school random tables, and several combine in the Magic Item Generator - A Miscellany of Magic Items and Random Wonders.
User mat_the_wad at the r/solorpgplay reddit shared a homemade Table for generating story ideas using d6 rolls. Useful for solo and game prep.
Gamebooks
The 100 Endings Book for November is Temple of the Skull God by Paul Partington, an open-world gamebook using the GNAT system.
And we've been playing the Altimer for our October read, a solid sci-fi gamebook by Sam Isaacson.
Gamebooks bled into my solo actual plays, with Necromancer by Rex Talionis as my dungeon solo. Gamebooks are an easier screenless solo option when travelling than most solo games.
Also going to give a shout out to the Gamebook Guild, a YouTube channel playing new (and older) gamebooks in English and Portuguese.
Rand Roll Articles
Random Tables marked a first with d66 tables for solo, with Action & Theme, Focus & Descriptor, d66 NPCs and d66 Locations. The plan is to add them to Compact Chaos.
Solo RPGs took at break from OSE and the Keep as I was on travels. Instead we had the Intro and Start plus Conclusion for Necromancer, a dungeon gamebook by Rex Talionis.
In addition to above, Gamebooks had Gamebook Diaries - a New Perspective Map and picks for 4 Classic Gamebook Series.
Finishing Up
That's all for October
Hope the dice treat you kindly.
