Newsletter for February

Duncan Thomson

There's a Rand Roll and Chaos Gen Newsletter sent every month. This is the February version.

28 Days of Random Tables

Over at the rpg_generators subreddit, I'm posting daily for February with random tables, rpgs with random tables and collections of random tables. Here's a full list of 28 days and a collected list of the days at Rand Roll

Highlighted Gens and Tools

At chartopia there's a 6x6 Dungeon with an interesting mix of entries.

RPG Spark is a mobile app (iOS and Android) with lots of generators (1/2 free, half paid). It's in 6 languages (don't know how good translations are).

The Book Scry by Grismund on itch.io is a pay-what-you-want collection of random tablres for generating a book.

Gamebooks

If you're interested in writing gamebooks, the Lindenbaum competition is now accepting entries (up to 100 passages). You've got until May 15th to submit entries. It's an annual competition for short gamebooks in any genre.

Our 100 Endings Book Club read for February is Twilight's Edge by August Hahn, a Lone Wolf book and one of the Chronicles of Magnamund. For March we'll be going to the Fabled Lands, the original open-world gamebook series by Jamie Thomson and Dave Morris.

Rand Roll Articles

We start and complete the first chapter of Dolmenwood for Solo RPGs. Clover starts adventures in Search for Stones and progresses them in Stoned Out.

There's Random Tables for River Encounters, and a few for Dolmenwood solo, notably NPCsDescriptor & Focus plus Action & Theme.

Tools Titles and Tables had updates for the main page, and also for Horror, then Solo Non-Fantasy and also Solo just Fantasy.

The other Gamebooks article after Twilight's Edge, was Testing the Briar for Gamebook Diaries.

PDFs - River Encounters

The first 1-Page Fantasy Encounters in a while released with River Encounters on DriveThruRPG. It will go up on itch.io at some point!

Great gaming wherever you are
