Here's a copy of the October Newsletter I send out for Rand Roll and Chaos Gen Newsletter.
Highlighted Gens and Tools
Lazarus has created a simple Retro Sci-Fi NPC Generator over at itch
Inkwell Ideas is publishing new Hexploration Decks (hex-map decks), and the kickstarter only has a few hours to go (I know, I'm late in saying about it!)
And a shout-out to the r/d100 subreddit, where people crowd-source all kinds of random tables.
Gamebooks
The 100 Endings Book Club entered it's second month with Nightshift by Victoria Hancox. There's a new interview with Victoria on Nightshift and other gamebooks. And there was a poll on the Rand Roll Discord for November's gamebook, with Scorpion Swamp winning, with the theme of Fighting Fantasy.
The Last Gamebook Jam has been running this month at itch. If you want to read some free, short gamebooks, go take a look.
There was another gamebook interview, with Qatlas, a Mapmaker who has done guides for many Fighting Fantasy and other gamebooks.
Rand Roll Articles
Solo RPGs have been focused on a playthrough of 2d6 Dungeon, getting Partway through Level 4, and then Onto the End of Level 10.
There's a Tables, Tools & Titles update for D&D Generators and DM's Guild Titles,
Interviews this month were gamebook-focused, with Victoria Hancox, Horror Gamebook Writer and Qatlas, Mapper of Fighting Fantasy and Other Gamebooks.
Random Tables showed off tables for Sci-Fi Alliterative Adversaries, covering A-E, F-J, K-O and P-T.
Other Gamebook articles include Gamebook Diaries - Next Generation of Tables and the slow expanding of a Guide to Gamebooks by Genre.
Random Table PDFs
First new random tables title in a while with Alliterative Adversaries - Science Fiction. It has random tables for letters of the alphabet that create inspiration such as "Contaminated clones" or "indestructible invaders", a "repairing robot" or a "vigilant vessel"
It's also in an Alliterative Adversaries bundle along with similar titles for Fantasy, Horror and Space Fantasy.
Finishing Up
Happy Gaming
