Interview with Emily of Fantasy Name Generators

She is one of the most prolific creators in the role-playing games and generators space.

Today RandRoll.com has an interview about generators with Emily of FantasyNameGenerators.com and RollForFantasy.com. We covered Emily's Name Generators in an earlier article.

Q&A with Emily of Fantasy Name Generators

How did you get into creating random generators?

It started as a silly hobby that grew to ridiculous proportions.

What generators are you most proud of creating and why?

I'm proud of my site overall. It helps a lot of people, some of whom are kind enough to send me thank you messages. They're really humbling.

One of the most fun name generators to create was the Pokemon name generator though. This one and others like it allow for a fun way to be creative with words, which I'm always a fan of.

What other random generators have you seen that you wish you had created?

I don't really pay attention to other random generators.

My to-do list is enormous thanks to countless suggestions of people who use my site, so I've always got more to create and more to work on.

How do you use random generators in tabletop RPGs?

I don't use them that often, but my D&D name generators do come in handy once in a while when I want a name that fits a specific race rather than just making up something random myself.

What are your next big projects (generators or otherwise) that you can talk about?

Expanding both my sites and somehow finding the time to do everything else I'd like to, both in terms of my sites and in life in general. I keep my cards close to my chest though, so it's wait and see for the most part.

Is there anything else you would like to say about random generators?

They can be a fun source of inspiration when a creative block hits.

Where can people find you on social media?

Nowhere. I stay away from social media. It's too much of a time sink to me.
